Ben Bennett

​

BEN BENNETT is an Australian Actor, Singer and Songwriter. He recently made his professional Musical Theatre debut playing the lead role of Johnny in Green Day's Musical AMERICAN IDIOT which opened in QPAC 23 February 2017.  Ben has just completed shooting an Australian Children's TV series and recently made his Feature Film debut in the role of Jay in "EMO The Musical" which had its world premiere in Melbourne in August 2016, and is due to open in cinemas early 2017. Ben toured and  performed in the 2016 Seniors Christmas Concert, Next Stop Christmas and he performed at the Rugby Union Final Australia vs England at Allianz Stadium, Sydney and also performed on the main stage at the Townsville 400 Street Party for the V8's.  Ben recently returned from the UK where he recorded an original EP which he released in January 2017 "The Wolf"

Ben was born in England and migrated to Australia with his family when he was 5 years old and spent his childhood in beautiful Townsville, North Queensland.   Having undertaken lessons in singing, acting, piano, guitar and musical theatre from a young age, Ben was thrilled to receive a scholarship to attend The McDonald College of Performing Arts in Sydney in 2009. Upon graduation he further studied Screen Acting at NIDAand dance at Sydney Dance Company. Ben is also, an active member of the music scene in both Australia and the UK performing gigs and music festivals.

  • As a Youth Ambassador I was invited to perform at the  NSW/ACT   Young Achievers Awards Launch Event

  • Undertaken voiceover work for The Black Dog Institute, Sydney

  • Performed at Opera by Candlight at the Albert Hall, Canberra

  • Licenced original music to Australian Broadcasting Corporation

  • Performed as Beeb Birtles for Little River Band Musical                    "Reminiscing" Workshop directed by Simon Phillips

  • Lead in short Film "Give"/"Regret"

  • TVC for Luna Park

  • Awarded Show Biz Future Prospect Award

  • Awarded Rob Guest Endowment Semi Finalist

  • Guest Performance at Miss World Australia Event

  • Performed at Steve Waugh Foundation, Barm Army (Live streamed to UK), Sydney Cricket Ground

  • Star Child in the Musical Starchild at Genesian Theatre, Sydney

  • Became a top 5 Finalist to become the new voice of "Neighbours".  

  • Performed as Romeo in Romeo & Juliet

  • Released Debut Orginal EP "BENJAMIN" which is available on iTunes and Googleplay.
